Jenn Stephens

Navy Lieutenant Commander Matthew Stephens chose to serve his country in both the Army and Navy, which he did with honor and dignity for over 10 years. While deployed to Fallujah in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, LCDR Stephens suffered numerous injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. He would later be diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and eventually Stage VI service-connected cancer. He fought with courage until he passed away in May 2019.

The past few years have been long and challenging as Jenn and their six children learned to navigate life without their hero. But the tenacious, loving, and fighting spirits of their children keep his memory very much alive in their home. Four of their children are current or past Folds of Honor scholarship recipients.
